Peoria Unified also reached a milestone in school improvement: all nine elementary schools identified for support based on the performance of their Students with Disabilities subgroup have exited school improvement status. Through the district's Noteworthy Nine initiative, each school's team met weekly to review assessment results, monitor attendance, identify barriers to learning and determine strategies to meet individual student needs.
"These results reflect the dedication of our teachers and staff, the incredible effort of our students and the tireless support of our families," said Peoria Unified Interim Superintendent Tahlya Visintainer. "We know there is still additional work to do and that test scores are just one measure of our success, but we are proud to celebrate every school for their continued focus on growth and achievement."
Students also performed above projections in elementary mathematics, English language arts and science, and high school students performed above projections in mathematics and science.
